Location

The Buy Back Shop is located at the Mareeba Resource Recovery Centre, which is part of the Mareeba Transfer Station on Vaughan Street in Mareeba.

Payments

The Buy Back Shop accepts cash and cashless payment (EFTPOS).

Cash payments will be received at the entrance to the Buy Back Shop. Cashless payments (EFTPOS) will be paid at the gate after a receipt has been received for goods purchased in the Buy Back Shop.

Purchasing goods at the Shop

Enter the Mareeba Transfer Station through the weighbridge and turn left to park in the dedicated Buy Back Shop car park.

Delivering items of good quality to the Shop

Are you planning a spring-clean, or you have items that you no longer use? Instead of throwing these items in the bin, you can bring items of good quality to the Buy Back Shop for FREE* (conditions apply).

Customers who would like to bring items of good quality to the Buy Back Shop, please need to follow the following steps:

  1. Weigh your load: Enter the Mareeba Transfer Station and weigh your load on the weighbridge.
  2. Dispose of your waste into their allocated areas.
  3. Exit: Proceed to the exit to weigh your load and to pay for your disposable waste.
  4. Turn-around by making a U-turn at the dedicated area.
  5. Enter back over the weighbridge, stop for entry purposes: Deliver to the Buy Back Shop dedicated car park and exit via the weighbridge.
  6. PLEASE NOTE: On Saturdays when the Buy Back Shop is open, all items need to be delivered to the mattress shed.

Conditions

  • Items for the Buy Back Shop are accepted during the opening hours of the Mareeba Transfer Station. View the opening hours here.
  • Items accepted for the Buy Back Shop are free to drop off. Customers will be charged for items that are not accepted.
  • All items for the Buy Back Shop will be assessed by the attendants onsite.  It is up to the discretion of staff on site as to what items are accepted.
  • All items are sold in an ‘as is’ condition. Customers are required to inspect items before purchase as items can’t be returned or exchanged.
  • Items must be paid for in full prior to departure from the Transfer Station.

Conditions of entry

  • Footwear must be worn at all times. 
  • Buy Back Shop Attendant directions are to be followed at all times. 
  • All items are sold in an ‘as is’ condition – choose items carefully. 
  • Disruptive or abusive behavior WILL NOT be tolerated.
  • No running.
  • Children are to be supervised at all times.
  • No animals are allowed on premises.
  • No refunds or exchanges are given.
  • Receipts must be retained while on site.
  • Items must be paid for in full prior to removal from site.
  • Check transport of goods prior to purchase.
  • Goods are to be returned to the display in the same condition as found.
  • Electrical items have not been tested and can not be tested on site before purchase.
  • Accidents or incidents must be reported to the Buy Back Shop Attendants immediately.
